Partner Support Program
Two Tunics is committed to developing healthy and effective partnerships. As we work cross culturally to address the critical needs created by the AIDS epidemic in Africa, we belive it is essential that we work together with local partners.
What we believe about partnerships determines why and how we will grow partnerships:
Partnership describes our relationship with God in mission.
Partnership also describes our relationship with others in accomplishing that mission.
Partnership reflects God’s nature – The Trinity.
In partnership each member has something to give and something to gain.
Partnership is most effective when accomplished through networks, therefore we are committed to fostering healthy networks.
Effective partnerships are based on equality and are not paternalistic.
In South Africa we are currently involved in a number of partnerships. These are with our local community project partners, with larger NGO partners and within networks.
Community Partner Support:
We currently have local community partners whose projects we support in the Ugu District of KwaZulu-Natal South Africa. Many of these partners focus on caring for children in their AIDS affected communities. Some of these projects run creches (day care facilities) while others provide feeding programs. Some partners provide Home Based Care to the sick and dying including providing spiritual care and support.
Ugu AIDS Alliance:
Two Tunics is a founding member and has been a driving force in the formation and growth of the Ugu AIDS Allaince (UAA). The UAA is a network of Christian NGO’s doing HIV/AIDS work in the Ugu District of KwaZulu-Natal South Africa committed to working together to support each other to maximize effectiveness while minimizing duplication of services.
