Our Team
Mike & Robin Nash, Founders
Until early 2004 we were leading a comfortable and contented life in Spokane, WA. Mike had retired from the US Air Force in 2001 and had an excellent and fulfilling job at the Spokane Veterans Hospital. Robin had a part time job she loved, teaching pre-school at Northview Christian School. We were active in our church, doing small group Bible study and serving in various ministries. Then God broke into our lives in a new and different way. He placed his clear call in on our lives to serve him full time, specifically in Africa in response to the AIDS pandemic.
Since that call we have learned so much. He has taught us about the AIDS pandemic and the complex issues involved in Africa. God revealed to us his heart for those suffering the effects of HIV/AIDS. We became aware of how little the church in North America is doing in response. Over a period of time we developed a vision of how we could respond in a Christ centered way that would be both effective and honoring to him. As a result we and a few other followers of Christ in Spokane founded the organization called Two Tunics.
After a period of waiting and uncertainty we felt led to step out in faith and commit to move to South Africa in September 2005. Up until June it was unclear how or even whether this vision would become a reality. Then God provided partnerships with SIM, the KwaZulu-Natal Dept. of Health and a SIM “HOPE For AIDS” project in the Port Shepstone area of KwaZulu-Natal South Africa. Since moving to South Africa God has continued to provide in amazing ways. A number of new partnerships have developed and new ministries emerged. People with AIDS are getting treatment. Children and others in AIDS affected communities are receiving much needed care and support. We serve a great God! May he be glorified in all we do.
